An unusual trip to Slimbridge this December, with 14 students in tow for a birdwatching / wildlife photography trip on a cold Sunday morning. Bewick swans and the flamingos made for some good close-up shots, though (another first!) a bittern appearing in low light, and opening wide its mouth to the gull mobbing it from above, gave me some of the pictures I am most proud of from the day.
Some of these, and the students', pictures can be seen at tinyurl.com/keswildlife. And see Water Birds too, of course.
